The Chula Vista Recreation Department will be hosting a week long, low-cost day camp during the school winter break at Harborside Park, 670 Oxford Street in western Chula Vista. The camp will be held Monday-Friday, December 19-23, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and is offered for a cost of only $5 to those who financially qualify. Regular cost for the day camp is $85. The camp cost is primarily supported through the Chula Vista Police Activities League (PAL-Chula Vista) in an effort to keep youth ages 6-12 physically engaged in their community during their winter school break.

“We are grateful to have a partnership with PAL – Chula Vista. They have always been strong advocates for youth in need of recreational opportunities to combat childhood obesity and sedentary behavior,” said Recreation Director Buck Martin. Two registration sessions are offered on a space available basis: Friday, December 16, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Harborside Park, and on Saturday, December 17, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Harborside Park.
