The Chula Vista Recreation Department will be hosting a week long, low-cost day camp, for those that financially qualify, at Lauderbach Park, during the Chula Vista public schools spring break. The camp, with a fee of only $5, will be held Monday-Friday, March 26-30, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Regular cost for the camp is $85. The camp cost is primarily supported through the Chula Vista Police Activities League (PAL-Chula Vista) as an effort to keep youth ages 6-12 years physically engaged in their community during their spring school break. “We are grateful to have a partnership with PAL – Chula Vista. They have always been strong advocates for youth in need of recreational opportunities to combat childhood obesity and sedentary behavior,” said Recreation Director Buck Martin. Two registration sessions are scheduled: Friday, March 23, 1:30 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 24, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, please call (619) 691-5083 or visit www.chulavistaca.gov/rec
