Run, don’t walk to a fun-filled festival for pets and their families! Pet Fest and Doggie Dash 2012 is returning to Memorial Park in Chula Vista’s Third Avenue Village on Saturday, June 16 from 8 a.m. to noon. Pet Fest features the Doggy Dash - a 1.5 mile fun run/walk starting at 9 a.m. Each $15 entry receives an event t-shirt and other goodies. Prizes will be given to both the winning Doggy Dasher and the participant who receives the most pledges. All pets must be leashed to participate. Proceeds from this charitable event will be donated to the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility and H.E.A.R.T of Chula Vista. The festival includes obedience demonstrations, guest animals from the Chula Vista Nature Center, and a vendor village with plenty of products and treats for your furry friend. Enter your faithful companion in any one of the five contests - cutest pet, smallest pet, largest pet, best costume and best trick - for the chance to win a fantastic gift basket. Looking for a furry friend to make your house a home? Adorable adoptees from the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility will be on-site waiting to meet a new pet parent. Employees and volunteers from the facility will be available to answer any questions about the animals, the adoption process and pet care.
