The City of Chula Vista offices and facilities will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Closures include all city recreation centers, pools, and libraries. The Living Coast Discovery Center (formerly the Chula Vista Nature Center) will be open normal hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Public safety will not be affected by the holiday schedule. Chula Vista’s Police department and fire stations will provide regular services. Public Works services including streets and sewers will be available on an emergency-only basis.

Please note there will not be fireworks along the Chula Vista bayfront this year.

Trash removal in the city of Chula Vista will be delayed one day. Those who have collection on Wednesday will be collected on Thursday and so forth for the week. The Household Hazardous Waste facility will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 but open on Saturday, July 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
