|Beautify Chula Vista, the popular neighborhood clean-up event, is in need of volunteers and sponsors! This year’s 10th annual event offers four Chula Vista locations for volunteers to choose from: Eucalyptus Park (Fourth Ave. & C St., 91910), Harborside Park (670 Oxford St., 91911), Rice Canyon at Discovery Park (700 Buena Vista Way, 91910) and Otay Valley Regional Park (Rios Staging area, 1795 Rios Ave., 91911).
The community event, hosted by Mayor Cheryl Cox and the Chula Vista City Council, in collaboration with I Love A Clean San Diego and Allied Waste Services, is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, from 8 a.m. to noon at each location. More than 850 volunteers are expected to turn out this year to pick up litter, clean up graffiti and remove weeds.
This is a great opportunity for students to earn community service hours and for residents to get involved by lending a helping hand in their community. For more details and registration, please visit www.beautifychulavista.org. All volunteers must register prior to the event. Make a difference by registering today!
Financial contributions are vital to the continued success of Beautify Chula Vista. Organizers are seeking financial sponsors of $500 or more to assist in providing volunteers with t-shirts, snacks and clean up supplies. Sponsor names will appear on volunteer t-shirts and on the web site (www.beautifychulavista.org). Local businesses can help promote neighborhood revitalization and community pride by being a sponsor. For sponsorship information, please contact Jennifer Quijano in the Mayor & Council office at email@example.com or call (619) 409-5812.
Individuals or groups can register at www.beautifychulavista.org. For registration questions, please contact I Love A Clean San Diego at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (619) 291-0103.
