COUNCILMEMBERS TAKE OATH OF OFFICE, TUESDAY, DEC. 4

Chula Vista will welcome back former Councilmember and State Assembly Member Mary Salas, and re-elected councilmember Pamela Bensoussan, during a City Council meeting on December 4 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in Council Chambers, located at 276 Fourth Avenue. Salas and Bensoussan will each take the oath of office while Councilmember Steve Castaneda says farewell. Castaneda is termed out after eight years on the council.

Salas served on the Chula Vista City Council from 1996 to 2004 before being termed out. She then went on to serve as Assembly Member to the 79th District for four years. Bensoussan has been on the council since 2008. A brief reception will be held after the oath of office and prior to the start of a regular council meeting.

Public parking for the ceremony will be in the Employee Lot west of Fire Station #1 and in the three-level Third Avenue Parking Garage, which can be accessed from F Street near Red Lobster or from Third Avenue near Fuddrucker’s.
