|Here’s your chance to go to college……………….at the Chula Vista Pubic Library! The Library, in conjunction with Southwestern College, is offering free, no credit computer classes. Participants must register through the college’s Continuing Education Department by calling (619) 482-6376.
Introduction to Microcomputers includes computer start-up, the graphic user inferface, use of mouse and keyboard commands, basic file management, formatting, word processing software procedures and proper computer shutdown. The three hour class is scheduled January 28-30 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the South Branch Library, 389 Orange Avenue (Class #NC 1051-E1.) Another one day class is scheduled for April 23 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Branch, 365 F Street (Class #NC 1051-E2.)
Developing High-Performance Charts in Microsoft Excel reviews the basics of spreadsheet use; structure data entry, formulas, and functions, and focuses on how to convert data into meaningful and high-impact charts. Students must bring a USB Flash drive to save and store class assignments. The 12 hour classes are scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays, February 4 – March 4, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the South Branch Library (Class #NC 24-E2). Another class will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 25 – May 14, 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Branch (Class #NC 24-E1).
Library computers are limited in availability but participants are welcome to bring their own laptop to these classes.
