|When an adult has a sudden cardiac arrest, his or her survival depends greatly on immediately getting CPR from someone nearby. Unfortunately, less than one third of those people who experience a cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public location get that help. Most by-standers are worried that they might do something wrong or make things worse. That’s why the American Heart Association has simplified things.
All ages are invited to participate in a free ten minute demonstration by the Chula Vista Fire Department and South Bay YMCA on Tuesday, June 4, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The event will be held at the South Bay Family YMCA, 1201 Paseo Magda, Chula Vista, and will include a free BBQ sponsored by the Chula Vista Firefighter's Foundation and Chula Vista Fire Explorers.
