SEPTEMBER EVENTS AT CHULA VISTA PUBLIC LIBRARY
 
If you’re looking for something different and exciting to do and tired of the same old thing, then visit your local Chula Vista Public Library which offers a variety of activities and programs for all ages to enjoy. Some of the September events include the following:

Family Guide to College Applications is offered on Tuesday, September 17, at 5:30 p.m. at the Otay Ranch Branch and Thursday, September 19, at 6 p.m. at the South Chula Vista Branch. Get the most up-to-date information on how to apply for college from a college admissions officer.

Kindergarten Boot Camp for kids ages 4-5. A two week session begins September 23 through October 4 from 9-10 a.m. or from 10-11 a.m. at the South Chula Vista Branch. Classes focus on pre-reading skills and family involvement. To register or for more information, contact Diana Ysla at (619) 585-5760 or email dysla@chulavista.lib.ca.us.

Citizenship Classes for those applying for U.S. citizenship start the week of September 25. Classes are held Saturdays at the Civic Center Branch at 1 p.m. or the South Chula Vista Branch at 3 p.m. on Wednesdays. Instructors are available to assist with filling out applications, studying for the test and preparing for the interview. No registration is required. Classes are made available through the Chula Vista Charitable Foundation, an affiliate of the San Diego Foundation. For more information, contact Diana Ysla at (619) 585-5760.

California Ballet Performs Alice in Wonderland in two performances. Watch a professional mini ballet featuring Alice, the White Rabbit, the Red Queen, the Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dee and Tweele Dum after reading excerpts from the book. There are opportunities for children to participate in the mini performance. Shows will be held Saturday, September 28 at 11 a.m. at the Civic Center Branch, and 1 p.m. at the South Chula Vista Branch.

LEGO Books and Blocks Club for children ages 6 and up at the Otay Ranch Branch Library. Children will listen to a story then bring it to life through the use of LEGOs on Saturday, September 28 at 1 p.m. Due to space limitations, registration is required. Please call (619) 397-5740.

All programs are free and open to the public.
