|Are you passionate about food and have always dreamed of owning your own eatery? Or do you have a business and are looking to expand? “Food Court Wars,” a popular television show on a major network, is currently casting for season two and specifically looking for contestants from Southern California.
Each week through the season, two teams of aspiring food entrepreneurs will battle to win their own food court restaurant and will compete in a different U.S. city mall. The mall wants to open a brand new “local” eatery in the food court that offers a fresh region-specific menu. Stakes are high as teams must test their concept, market their brand and run their outlet for a full day feeding hungry shoppers. The team whose restaurant makes the most profit wins their eatery space within a local mall rent free for an entire year – a prize worth up to $100,000!
Casting for two-person teams will run through the middle of October and must consist of pre-existing relationships (e.g., friends, family, couples, co-workers). Teams of two should ideally consist of one culinary expert and one person with business skills. The contestants must believe they have the winning formula to successfully run their original food court restaurant. Local contestants also must live within a 90 mile radius of Chula Vista. Local vendors, farmer’s market participants, food truck operators and local “mom and pop” shops are encouraged to apply.
To apply, email Jason@TheConlinCompany.com and include the following information: your name and the name of your teammate, recent photos of both, a short bio on both, the type of eatery (with sample menu) that you would like to open and how it’s going to be locally inspired and original, your contact information and current location.
For additional information and application, go to www.TheConlinCompany.com. Although filming will be held at a local mall in the future, contestants should not contact any local mall or the City of Chula Vista; only The Conlin Company can answer questions about “Food Court Wars.” Good Luck!
