Overnight closures of Telegraph Canyon Road and East H Street ramps, and Sound Wall Construction
The southbound Interstate 805 (I-805) off-ramp to Telegraph Canyon Road in Chula Vista will be closed Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for about four weeks to make drainage improvements. The northbound I-805 East H Street off-ramp and southbound I-805 East H Street on- and off-ramps may be closed intermittently during this same time period.

In addition, in early October, construction will begin on ten sound walls along Interstate 805 (I-805) between East Palomar Street in Chula Vista through National City and end near State Route 94 in San Diego. Sound walls are designed to help reduce freeway noise and enhance the quality of life for neighboring communities. Construction on the sound walls will occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Residents can expect noise, heavy equipment, and the removal of vegetation in construction areas. Your patience is appreciated during construction.

The closures and sound walls are part of the I-805 South Express Lanes Project, a $1.4 billion effort to create a modern new transportation backbone for South County. Construction on the first phase of the project began in June, 2012. Work includes building one carpool lane in each direction along an eight-mile segment of the freeway stretching from East Palomar Street in Chula Vista to State Route 94 in San Diego. The project is expected to be completed in 2014.
