|If your new year’s resolution involves making an addition or remodeling your home, or perhaps as a landlord or business owner you will be making a tenant improvement to your building, then you need to be aware of Senate Bill 407 (2009). Effective January 1, 2014, this bill requires a building permit applicant to replace all noncompliant plumbing fixtures in properties built prior to January 1, 1994, with water-conserving plumbing fixtures.
The bill affects single family residences as well as multifamily residences including duplex and commercial property for additions and alterations.
