If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to have your pit bull or Chihuahua spayed or neutered, now is that time. Pet owners from Chula Vista, National City, Imperial Beach or Lemon Grove can register for a free clinic at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility (CVACF), 130 Beyer Way.

Through a generous grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), the clinic will be held at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility on Friday, January 17, from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The clinic can accommodate 10 pit bulls (weighing under 60 lbs.) and 15 Chihuahuas. To reserve a spot, visit the shelter in person Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration will not be taken over the telephone.

“The spay/neuter clinic for pit bulls and Chihuahuas is a way of helping to control the pet population in our area,” said Mariya Anton, CVACF Administrator. “We are pleased to be able to offer this free service to our local community with the assistance of ASPCA.”
