CHULA VISTA LIBRARY FOUNDATION TO HOST FOOD AND WINE EVENT

Enjoy a casual evening under the stars with wine, hors d’oeuvres and music while helping to support the Chula Vista Public Library. On Saturday, April 26, from 5 to 9 p.m., the Chula Vista Public Library Foundation (CVPLF) will host “Bon Appetit: Celebrating Food, Wine and Our Libraries” at Otay Ranch Town Center in the food pavilion outside the City’s trendsetting Otay Ranch Branch Library. Favorite area restaurants and food vendors, excellent vintners, purveyors of premium tequila and vodka, popular deejay John Henry, and a silent auction will entertain guests age 21 and over.

Tickets for the evening are $40 per person and can be purchased at the three City libraries (Otay Ranch, Civic, and South Branches), from CVPLF members, or at the door that evening.

In addition to the fabulous silent auction items, there will also be a live auction for VIP ticket packages to popular concerts at Sleep Train Amphitheatre this season including the Dave Matthews Band, Journey and Steve Miller Band, One Republic, and Blake Shelton. Also, a grand prize live raffle of a $1000 shopping spree at Otay Ranch Town Center is scheduled; tickets for this raffle are only $5 each and can be purchased in advance from each library branch as well as at the event. There is no need to be present to win.

“Thanks to our generous sponsors and the library lovers of Chula Vista, we hope the community will join us for an evening of good music, great food and drink, and fantastic prizes, all to support a wonderful cause – our Chula Vista Public Library,” said Betty Waznis, Library Director. “Our goal this year is to raise funds to open an expansion of our popular mall branch library, the Otay Ranch Branch.”

The CVPL Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the Chula Vista Public Library by providing charitable funds to further the education and community service goals of the library.
