SENIOR VOLUNTEER PATROL HONORS ITS OWN WITH BRICK DEDICATION

Chula Vista’s Senior Volunteer Patrol (SVP) will honor past members in a special brick-laying ceremony on Friday, March 28, 2014. The event begins at 10 a.m. at the South Bay Family YMCA, 1201 Paseo Magda in Chula Vista. Former members to be honored are Mike Sole and David Zigety. Family and friends of the deceased members will be in attendance for the dedication.

The City’s Senior Volunteer Patrol program boasts more than 60 members who are committed to being the “eyes and ears” of the Chula Vista Police Department. SVP members enforce handicapped parking regulations, provide fingerprinting for children, document graffiti, conduct vacation home security checks, and assist with traffic control. They are the ultimate in community volunteers.

For more information on Chula Vista’s SVP, please contact Jack Mitchell, Program Administrator, at (619) 476-2415.
