Two branches of the Chula Vista Public Library will offer free lunches and snacks during the public school summer break to children ages 1-18. The program will run from Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 27, at the Civic Center and South Chula Vista library branches. Offered Monday through Friday, the lunches and snacks are on a first-come, first-served basis. Dates and times are as follows: Civic Center Branch Library, 365 F Street, lunch from 12-1 p.m., snacks from 3-3:30 p.m.; South Chula Vista Branch Library, 389 Orange Avenue, lunch from 12-1 p.m.; snacks from 3-3:30 p.m.

Food items scheduled to be served include pizza, chicken patties, burritos, sandwiches, fruit and milk. The free lunch program is sponsored by the U.S Department of Agriculture in conjunction with the Chula Vista Elementary School District which will prepare the food.
