|On June 3, the Chula Vista City Council voted to accept the City Manager’s Proposed Budget for fiscal year 2014-15. Per the City Charter, the City Council proposed budget is now available for public review (at least 10 days in advance of the adoption of the budget). The final budget will be considered for adoption at a public hearing on at the June 17 City Council meeting.
The proposed $134.5 million General Fund budget funds the highest level of municipal services based on available resources, makes progress on key programs and projects, continues stabilizing the City’s financial base, and maintains a balanced General Fund budget. The proposed budget identifies normal operating costs, connects funding to the citywide strategic plan, incorporates department funding priorities, and targets expenditures to service levels reported in the Program Summary.
