|There’s plenty of summertime left and Parkway Community Center has plenty of activities for you to enjoy. The Center, located at 373 Park Way, is offering the following events with something for everyone from age 1 to 100!
Wet N Wild Camp, July 7-11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 6-13. The fee is $85 residents; $106 non-residents. Participants will play water games, use water balloons, slip ‘n’ slide and water guns.
Volleyball Workshop, July 8-10 and 15-17, from 4 to 5 p.m. for ages 10-16. Fee is $35 residents; $44 non-residents. Focus will be on positions and skills, serving, spiking, volley and general play.
Basketball Camp, July 14-18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for ages 6-13. Fee is $100 residents; $125 non-residents. Camp will work on dribbling, shooting, general rules of the game and will include scrimmages.
A free family movie is scheduled for July 18, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. The Lego movie will be shown in Memorial Park, 373 Park Way.
Battle of the Bands on July 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Memorial Park. Fee is $20 per band to participate and the event is free to the public to watch as bands battle playing different types of music.
Fun in the Sun, July 26, from 10 am. to 2 p.m. for ages 6-12. Fee is $12 residents and $15 non-residents. Children will spend the day outside of Parkway Community Center playing sports, making crafts, playing water games and having fun!
Kids Night Out, August 1, from 6-9 p.m. for ages 6-12. Fee is $12 residents; $15 non-residents. Drop the kids off while they participate in relay races, crafts, movie and dinner, and parents get a break!
In addition to the above, Parkway also has a variety of arts and craft classes; dance classes including hip hop, ballet, tap, jazz, and Mexican folk dance; martial arts; teen dodgeball; and physical fitness for adult, teen, children and preschoolers. Tiny Tots is being offered July 7 to September 15, from 9-11:50 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday for those ages 3-5.
