Hey there cowboys and cowgirls! Save the date and mosey down to Rohr Park for the free Chula Vista Train Festival on Saturday, August 30. Hosted by the Chula Vista Live Steamers, free train rides will be offered on the miniature trains that run in the park, located at 4548 Sweetwater Road in Bonita. Scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the community event will also feature the Mark Jackson Band, Cowboy Poets, equestrian show, food vendors and more!

Founded 40 years ago by a group of people interested in building and operating small models of real (live steam) machinery, the Chula Vista Live Steamers normally run the trains the second Sunday of each month from 12-2:30 p.m. Donations are accepted.

In honor of their 40 years, free train rides will also be offered on Sunday, August 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. but the festival is only on Saturday. For more information, call (619) 409-3823.
