Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Reduction Plan
Officially adopted in November 2002, the City's CO2 Reduction Plan aims to lower the community's major greenhouse gas emissions while strengthening the local economy and improving environmental conditions. Green Star Program
The GreenStar Building Efficiency Program is one of the 20 Action Measures contained in the Chula Vista Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Reduction Plan. GreenStar is a voluntary program that encourages builders to incorporate energy efficient features into their projects. Builders are rewarded with priority building permit processing. more...
Air Quality
An Air Quality Improvement Plan (AQIP) is required for all major development projects. The AQIP shall provide an analysis of air pollution impacts which would result from the project, and will be required to demonstrate the best available design to reduce vehicle trips, maintain or improve traffic flow, reduce vehicle miles traveled, including implementation of appropriate traffic control measures, and other means of reducing emissions (direct or indirect) from the project, as well as defining a program to monitor compliance. Water Conservation
A Water Conservation Plan (WCP) is required for all major development projects. The WCP shall provide an analysis of water usage requirements of the proposed project, as well as a detailed plan of proposed measures for water conservation, use of reclaimed water, and other means of reducing water consumption from the proposed project, as well as defining a program to monitor compliance. more...
