At Allied Waste Services environmental protection is always front and center. In recent years their fleets of natural gas vehicles have doubled and solar and gas-to-energy projects generate enough renewable energy to power over 393,000 homes. The Otay Landfill here in Chula Vista alone produces enough energy for 5,000 homes.

Blue Trucks, Blue Skies

In 2011, Allied Waste Services began using collection trucks powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Chula Vista. CNG is a substitute to traditional fossil fuels. It's cleaner burning and much safer.
