The City's recent biodiesel tank project has been highlighted by the Department of Energy (DOE) on their national blog and solutions center website. The biodiesel project, which was funded through the DOE-administered Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant program, has allowed over 125 heavy-duty fleet vehicles to be converted to the low carbon fuel source. The biodiesel is refined from used cooking oil collected at local restaurants.
