The Master Composting Training is a six-week course with hands-on instruction, lectures, and discussions that cover:

  • Multiple composting methods

  • Reduction/elimination of pesticide use

  • Soil health

  • Water conservation and water quality issues

Upon course completion and 30 additional hours of community service, students receive their certificate.  Certified Master Composters share their experience and knowledge within the community through workshops and community events.

Compost bins are available for $35 to Chula Vista residents that have attended one of the City's composting/less toxic gardening workshops.
