Coronavirus COVID-19 UPDATE
The health and well-being of Chula Vista residents during the COVID-19 outbreak remains our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, and in accordance with State Guidelines issued regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, the City of Chula Vista will modify operations. Many City of Chula Vista operations continue despite City facility closures. Here is a list of City Services you can access online. The City Hall Complex (except for the Finance Counter), Public Works, City Recreation Centers, the Norman Park Senior Center and Chula Vista Public Libraries are closed until further notice. This closure includes library, cultural arts and recreation programming, as well as youth and adult sports held at local parks/fields. Critical Public Safety Operations continue. The CVPD lobby is open for limited services.
Parks and trails are open for limited use from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Parking lots will be open but restrooms, sports fields, gazebos/picnic tables and playground equipment remain closed. Climate Challenge Meet-Up and Movie

City Staff will be presenting about the challenge and signing residents up before a free vegan lunch and a screening of “Chasing Coral”. “Chasing Coral” is a documentary that follows a team of divers, photographers and scientists on a thrilling ocean adventure to discover why coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate and to reveal the underwater mystery to the world. After the movie, Community Group leaders from the Challenge will provide an update on their progress in the Challenge and volunteers will lead a “tie dye” workshop to show how you can add more life to your old worn white shirts. Bring any white cotton shirt for the chance to tie dye it at no-cost. Staff will also be on hand to collect Climate Action Plan feedback and provide information about City programs to help residents save energy.
Go Green and Win!!
Attendees will be awarded raffle tickets for the sustainable actions that they take. Such as riding their bike to the event, signing up a friend for the challenge, bringing their own reusable utensils for the free lunch or completing an action in the Challenge. Visit the “Events” portion of the challenge for a full list of ways you can earn tickets. Must be at ticket drawing to win. Prizes include a family pass to the Living Coast Discover Center, Nest Smart Thermostat, LED bulbs and reusable utensils.
