Coronavirus COVID-19 UPDATE
The health and well-being of Chula Vista residents during the COVID-19 outbreak remains our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, and in accordance with State Guidelines issued regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, the City of Chula Vista will modify operations. Effective immediately, the City of Chula Vista is suspending operations. This includes the closure of the City Hall Complex, Public Works, City Recreation Centers, Parks, Dog Parks, the Norman Park Senior Center and Chula Vista Public Libraries until further notice. This closure includes library, cultural arts and recreation programming as well as youth and adult sports held at local parks/fields. Critical Public Safety Operations will continue.
In addition, the City of Chula Vista is postponing the 2020 Hops & Hops 5K event to a later date. Everyone who has pre-registered for the event will receive a full refund. This decision was made keeping the health and safety of our staff, vendors and event attendees a top priority. We know these are challenging times and appreciate all your support and understanding. Free Film & Discussion
We will present a special documentary film that tells the story of humanitarian, civil rights activist, and labor leader Cesar Chavez, who led a historical movement to improve the lives of farm workers and their families. There will be a discussion after the film. Sponsored by the Friends of the Chula Vista Library and a Visual and Performing Arts Grant from the City of Chula Vista.
