Hear the latest on the work of the South County Higher Education Planning Task Force as it develops plans for the University District at Chula Vista, learn from key stakeholders, and share your input on this important regional effort.

The UDCV represents a new model for higher education—one that would:

• Bring multiple higher education institutions in one location to expand careeraligned educational opportunities for regional learners;
• Attract new business and jobs to the region and strengthen the binational community; and
• Support the long-term economic prosperity of South County and the broader CaliBaja region.

The City and the State of California have launched the South County Higher Education Planning Task Force — a state-authorized effort (AB662 Alvarez). The Task Force is charged with exploring the development of a future-focused university model in South County and will submit recommendations to the California State Legislature by mid-2027.
