If you have been wanting to learn CPR but never seem to have the time, perhaps the upcoming CPR “marathon” session will fit your schedule. The Chula Vista Fire Department, the Chula Vista Firefighters Foundation, and Chula Vista CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) are hosting a free CPR/AED certification class. Classes, which are two and one half hour each, are open to adults and those age 16 and over.

The free classes will be held on Saturday, June 2, to Sunday, June 3, at Chula Vista Fire Station 4 located at 850 Paseo Ranchero. Classes are scheduled at various times throughout the weekend between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and several classes will be offered in Spanish. There is a maximum of 35 participants per class. To register, please complete the pre-registration form online by May 31. Telephone reservations are not accepted and no walk-ins will be allowed.

Upon successful completion of the class, each participant will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver CPR/AED card that is good for two years from the date of the class.
