The City of Chula Vista offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day, a national day of remembrance honoring military personnel who lost their lives in service to their country. Public safety will not be affected by the holiday schedule. Emergency 9-1-1 calls, and police and fire will provide regular daily 24-hour services. Public Works Department services, including streets and sewers, will be available on an emergency-only basis.
Trash removal in the City of Chula Vista will be delayed one day. Those who have collection on Monday will be collected on Tuesday, and the rest will follow this cadence. The Household Hazardous Waste facility in Chula Vista will be open on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, and Wednesday, May 28th, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Members of the community can join the City of Chula Vista Memorial Day Flag Placement event on Friday, May 23 at 10 a.m. at Veterans Park. To honor the lives and legacy of U.S. service members who gave their lives in service to the nation. In partnership with the Human Relations Commission, volunteers from our local community will place American flags along the “Walk of Honor” at Veterans Park in collective remembrance and unity. This is the first year the City of Chula Vista has organized this event that aims to create a meaningful and visible tribute.
