Juneteenth honors the enduring legacy of freedom, equity and justice for all.

Emergency 9-1-1 calls, and police and fire will provide regular daily 24-hour services. Public Works Department services, including streets and sewers, will be available on an emergency-only basis.

Trash and recycling collection in Chula Vista will follow a regular schedule with no delays. The Household Hazardous Waste Facility will be open Saturday, June 14, 2025, and Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

To honor the spirit of Juneteenth, the City of Chula Vista, in partnership with the Human Relations Commission, invites the community to a special Flag Raising ceremony at City Hall on Tuesday, June 17th at 4 p.m. The flag raising in commemoration of Juneteenth, symbolizes progress and reflection as a community.
