The City of Chula Vista Human Relations Commission (HRC) is proud to announce the launch of the inaugural Human Relations Commission Awards, a new initiative to recognize individuals, organizations and businesses that are making Chula Vista a more inclusive, connected and compassionate community. These awards will honor those who go above and beyond to promote mutual respect, understanding and positive human relations among all who call Chula Vista home.
Award Categories:
- Youth Award: Honors a young person (18 years old or younger) demonstrating leadership and commitment to service that improves human relations in Chula Vista.
- Lifetime Achievement Award: Celebrates an individual with a longstanding dedication to advancing human relations and equity in the community.
- Individual Award: Recognizes a community member whose everyday actions or advocacy have strengthened relationships and fostered inclusion within the community.
- Organization Award: Highlights a nonprofit, business or public agency offering programs or services that promote unity and positive community engagement.

The deadline to submit is Wednesday, July 18, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
Final selections will be made by the Human Relations Commission, and honorees will be celebrated at a special recognition ceremony during a Chula Vista City Council meeting September 2025.
