The City of Chula Vista invites residents, businesses, youth, community organizations, and public health partners to participate in upcoming community discussions on the City’s Tobacco Retail Permit Ordinance. These meetings are part of the City’s ongoing efforts to gather public input and ensure local policies reflect the priorities and experiences of Chula Vista residents.
The Tobacco Retailer Ordinance, Chula Vista Municipal Code Chapter 5.56, regulates the sale of tobacco products within the city. As part of the City’s commitment to community-based decision-making, staff are hosting several opportunities for community members to participate.
Community members may provide input through a short online survey: Public Tobacco Use and Accessibility and participate at an upcoming commission meeting or community discussion.
The discussions will include a brief overview of the current ordinance, followed by time for participants to share concerns, ask questions, and offer suggestions. All community members are welcome.
