|In last night’s closed session, the Chula Vista City Council voted to name Assistant City Manager Scott Tulloch Interim City Manager. Tulloch, who has been Assistant City Manager since July 2007, will oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations while the City conducts an expedited search for a permanent replacement. The search begins tomorrow, Thursday, September 25. Applications are due at 5 p.m. Monday, October 6. Although no date has been set for the selection of a new City Manager, Councilmembers will begin reviewing applications as early as October 7.
A special City Council meeting has been scheduled for September 30 at 4 p.m. to solicit input from the public concerning the City Manager recruitment.
To reach interested applicants, the City’s Human Resources Department will post the recruitment brochure on various government-related websites, including Western Cities Magazine, ICMA, the Municipal Management Association and the City’s own home page at www.chulavistaca.gov.
Tulloch has served as the Assistant City Manager in charge of Development Services and Public Works. He joined the City as Director of Engineering in December 2006. Previous positions include director of the City of San Diego’s Metropolitan Wastewater Department and District Engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers.
