Summer 2010 Youth Coed Basketball League
 

The Chula Vista Recreation Department will begin registration for the Summer Youth Coed Basketball League on Monday, May 10.  Cost is $75 for residents and $95 for non-residents for the first child.  For a second child or more the cost is $60 for residents and $75 for non-residents.  The coed league is for youth born between the years 1993 – 2002.  Registration is accepted, on a space available basis, at all Chula Vista Recreation Centers on a walk-in basis, mail-in and online.  Please note a nominal/non-refundable “convenience fee” is charged for all online registrations provided by an online registration vendor.  Limited financial assistance applications will be accepted through June 4.

According to the program guidelines, children participating in the league, sign-up to their home address zip code.  The zip code breakdown is as follows:

Western Chula Vista Section:

  • 91911, 91932, and 92154 home court will be:
    Otay Recreation Center, 3554 Main St, (619) 476-5325

  • 91910, 91950, and 92139 home court will be:
    Parkway Community Center, 373 Park Way, (619) 691-5083

Eastern Chula Vista Section:

  • 91914 and 91902 home court will be:
    Montevalle Park & Recreation Center, 840 Duncan Ranch Rd, (619) 409-1977

  • 91915 home court will be:
    Salt Creek Park & Recreation Center, 2710 Otay Lakes Rd, (619) 585-5739

  • 91913, Parkview, Greg Rogers and Hedenkamp schools home court will be:
    Veterans Park & Recreation Center, 785 E. Palomar, (619) 691-5260

All players must attend player evaluations.  Each center will be conducting their own player evaluations and draft.  Exact days/dates/times will be listed on payment receipt when registrations is completed.  Practices will begin the week of June 14 and will be outside one to two times per week (Monday – Friday, between 4-8 p.m).  Schedules depend on the availability of the volunteer coaches.  Games will be played on Tuesday and Friday evenings and Saturdays all day.  Each team will play two games per week (one weekday and one Saturday).

The first game is June 26 and the last game will be July 31.  Playoffs begin August 6 and the Championship Games are scheduled for August 14.
