High School Students Wanted for Youth Action Council

The City of Chula Vista is currently accepting applications for the Youth Action Council (YAC) 2010 – 2011 school year through 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 30.  To be eligible, applicants must be high school students in grades 10, 11 or 12, and be a resident of Chula Vista.

YAC Commissioners make recommendations and provide a direct communication link between the youth of the City and the City Council.  Commissioners have the opportunity to perform community service, gain first-hand experience in local government, and become informed stakeholders in the community.

Commission information and applications are available at www.chulavistaca.gov/goto/Boards and at the City Clerk’s office, 276 Fourth Avenue, (619) 691-5041.  Applications can be submitted online or to the City Clerk’s office by U.S. Mail or hand delivery.  Applicant interviews will be scheduled in July.

For more information please contact Jennifer Quijano in the Mayor’s office at (619) 691-5044 or via email to jquijano@chulavistaca.gov.
