Animal Care Facility Extends Adoption Campaign

It’s raining cats and kittens! Bring your umbrella and head to the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility. Due to an influx of cats at the Facility, the popular “Adopt a Cat” campaign has been extended through the month of July.

During the summer months, the shelter receives cats and kittens at an alarming rate due to the breeding season. To help alleviate the overcrowding, the “Adopt a Cat” campaign was launched offering special incentives. For cats that are over six months old, the adoption fee will be waived. For kittens under six months, there is a “two for one” special: pay an adoption fee of $65 for one kitten and adopt a second kitten for free. The adoption fee for each cat/kitten includes spay or neuter, microchip and initial vaccines. In addition, each kitten adopter will be given a $20 Petco gift card – while supplies last – with their kitten adoption packet.

The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility is open Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with adoptions processed until 6 p.m., Wednesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with adoptions processed until 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with adoptions processed until 3 p.m. The shelter is located at 130 Beyer Way. For more information, please call (619) 691-5123.
