CHULA VISTA CITY FACILITIES HOLIDAY CLOSURES ANNOUNCED
 
Police and Fire: Emergency 9-1-1 response will remain fully operational; police officers and firefighters will maintain normal schedules with the police lobby closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Animal Care Facility will be closed Dec. 23-25 and Dec.30-Jan. 1.

Libraries: The Civic Center Branch will be open 10 a.m. 3 p.m. on Dec. 24, closed Dec. 25, open 10 a.m. 5 p.m. on Dec. 26-29, open 1-5 p.m. on Dec. 30, open 10 a.m. 3 p.m. on Dec. 31 and closed Jan. 1. The South Branch will be open 10 a.m. 3 p.m. on Dec. 24 and then will be closed until Jan. 2. The Otay Ranch Branch is closed Dec. 25, open 11 a.m. 7 p.m. Dec. 26 and 27, open 12-6 p.m. Dec. 28 and 29, closed Dec. 30, 31 and Jan. 1. All libraries will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Recreation Centers: With the exception of Loma Verde Family Aquatic Center, which is open for lap swim per the following schedule, all recreation/community centers and the Parkway Family Aquatic Center will be closed Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. Lap swim hours are Dec. 26 from 9:30 a.m. 12 and 2:15-7 p.m., Dec. 27 from 9:30 a.m.- 12, 1:30-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m., and Dec. 28 from 9:30 11 a.m., 12-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. , Jan. 2 and 3 from 7:30 a.m. 12 and 1:30-7 p.m., Jan. 4 from 7:30 11 a.m. and 12-7 pm., Jan. 7 from 7:30 a.m.- 7 p.m., Jan. 8 from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3:30-7 p.m., Jan. 9 from 7:30 a.m. 7 p.m., Jan. 10 from 7:30 9 a.m., 11 a.m. 1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. and Jan. 11 from 7:30 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.-7 pm. Regular lap swim hours at Loma Verde and operations at the Parkway Family Aquatic Center will resume on Jan. 14.

Also, during the Chula Vista public school holiday break, City recreation facilities will be open as follows: Parkway Center open for drop-in play 2:30-8 p.m. Jan. 2, 2:30-9 p.m. Jan. 3, 1-6 p.m. Jan. 4 and 9 a.m. 4 p.m. Jan. 5. Parkway Gymnasium will be open for drop-in basketball 5-9 p.m. on Jan. 4 and 12-4 p.m. on Jan. 6. Salt Creek fitness center will be open 8:30 a.m. 12 p.m. Jan. 2-4. Norman Park Senior Center will be open 8 a.m. 9 p.m. Jan. 2 and 3 and 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Jan. 4. Montevalle Center will be offering a variety of Winter Day Camps from basketball to art to tumbling. Public Works Operations: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Household Hazard Waste Facility: The Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Facility will be closed Dec. 19, 22, 24, 26 and 29. It will reopen on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

City Hall/Civic Center Complex: Administrative offices at 276 Fourth Ave. (Mayor/Council, City Attorney, City Clerk, City Manager, Human Resources, Redevelopment and Housing, Fire Administration, Fire Prevention, Development Services, Engineering, and Finance) will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Dec. 31 will be open to the public from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. In addition, normal Friday closures for the Civic Center will be in effect Dec. 21 and 28.

Trash pick up: Will be delayed one day on both Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Those having pick up on Tuesday, will have service on Wednesday and Wednesday service will be on Thursday and so forth for the week.
