|Over the next six months, Chula Vista’s Public Works Conservation Section will be working with the California Center for Sustainable Energy to showcase its “Energy Roadshow Trailer” in the South Bay area. The Roadshow Trailer features educational displays highlighting various sustainable technologies and products. These technologies include energy-saving air conditioners, insulation, LED lighting, tankless water heaters, and solar photovoltaic and hot water systems. In addition, there are displays for sustainable flooring and cabinetry, electric vehicle chargers, plumbing fixtures, and rain barrels.
The Energy Roadshow Trailer will provide Chula Vista and other South Bay community members a unique, hands-on learning experience to discover ways to improve their home’s comfort and indoor air quality, while lowering their monthly utility costs.
Look for the Trailer at the city’s Home Upgrade, Carbon Downgrade community outreach events from now through May (www.chulavistaca.gov/clean). Three events are scheduled in this month: Feb. 7 from 4-7 p.m. and Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Civic Center Branch Library, 365 F Street, and at Salt Creek Recreation Center, 2710 Otay Lakes Road, on February 23 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Funding for the Roadshow Trailer’s South Bay Tour is provided by the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Neighborhood program and the City of Chula Vista’s Local Government Partnership program with San Diego Gas & Electric.
