RECREATION OFFERS A BONANZA OF CAMPS

If you don’t want to hear, “I’m bored.” this summer while the kids are on summer break, then the Chula Vista Recreation Department has just the cure. Over 35 day and mini-day camps are planned at five recreation centers with some camps held at various parks and the Olympic Training Center. With so many fun and exciting activities planned, the kids won’t have time to be bored. Some of the camps also include field trips.

For the child who wants to work on their sports skills, there are several camps including volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, tennis, soccer and archery. The artistic ones will enjoy art camp, hip hop dance, gymnastics/cheer, and dance/musical theatre. And everyone is sure to have fun at Water Wonderland, Carnival Kraze, Wild Water Days or Wacky Science camp.

In addition, the Chula Vista Public Library will offer cooperative programming at Salt Creek’s theme week camps: Water Wonderland, Carnival Kraze and Summerpalooza, offering fun story times and book talks for campers of all ages.

For registration and more information, go to www.chulavistaca.gov/rec or call (619) 409-5979.
