|Your Chula Vista Public Library is much more than a place with lots of books, computers and tapes – it also serves as a valuable resource for information on numerous subjects, including your health! During the month of October, the Chula Vista Library has several events planned to help keep you healthy.
The local Health and Human Services Agency, in partnership with the Chula Vista Library, will be offering free flu vaccinations on October 10, from 1-6 p.m. at the Civic Center Branch, 365 F Street. Flu vaccinations will be available, until supplies last, for adults, youth and children (six months and older). Or come to the free flu and shingles clinic, sponsored by Rite-Aid, on Wednesday, October 23, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Civic Center Branch.
Do you have questions about the new Affordable Care Act and how it affects you and your family? Join the experts from San Ysidro Health Center and Family Health Centers of San Diego at several free, informative workshops. Workshops will be presented on Wednesday, October 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, October 23, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Branch Auditorium. Workshops will also be held at the South Chula Vista Branch, 389 Orange Avenue, on three Thursday afternoons: October 10, 17, and 24, between the hours of 2 and 6 p.m. Registration is not required for any of the above workshops or clinics.
