CHULA VISTA CITY FACILITIES HOLIDAY CLOSURES ANNOUNCED
 
Listed below are closures and change of hours for the City of Chula Vista offices and facilities including recreation centers and libraries during the holiday season. All facilities will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Police and Fire: Emergency 9-1-1 response will remain fully operational; police officers and firefighters will maintain normal schedules with the police lobby closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1

Animal Care Facility will have regular hours of Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the following exceptions: close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24, closed Dec. 25, close at 3 p.m. Dec. 31, and closed on Jan. 1.

Libraries: The Civic Center Branch and South Branch will observe the following schedule: open Dec. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed Dec. 25, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 26-28, open 1 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 29, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 30, open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 31, and closed Jan. 1. The Otay Ranch Branch is open Dec. 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed Dec. 25, open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 26, open noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 27-28, closed Dec. 29, open Dec. 30 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., open Dec. 31 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed Jan. 1. All libraries will resume normal business hours on Jan. 2.

Recreation Centers: During the upcoming Chula Vista public school holiday break, City recreation facilities will be open for free, drop-in play and registration for Winter 2014 recreational classes and camps as follows: Heritage Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 23, Dec. 27, Dec. 30, and Jan. 2-3.; Otay Recreation Center from 12 to 4 .pm. on Dec. 23, Dec. 27, Dec.30, and Jan. 3; Salt Creek Recreation Center (and fitness center) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 23, Dec. 24, Dec. 26, and Dec. 27, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 30-31, and Jan. 2- 3; Veterans Recreation Center from 2 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 23, Dec. 27, Dec. 30, and January 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 28, and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Jan 4. In addition, Loma Verde Recreation Center will be offering a Parentís Night Out event from 6 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 23.

Loma Verde Aquatic Center will be open for lap swim per the following schedule: Dec. 23, 24, 26, and 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m., Dec. 30-31 from 7 to 9 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 5 to 7 p.m., and January 2- 3 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Parkway Aquatic Center, Parkway Recreation Center and Gymnasium, Loma Verde Recreation Center and Norman Park Center will be closed.

The Department will also be offering a variety of camps during the week of January 6 at Heritage, Montevalle and Salt Creek Recreation Centers. For information on all recreation programs and facilities, please visit www.chulavistaca.gov/recreation.

Public Works Operations: Closed Dec. 25, Jan. 1 and 3.

Household Hazard Waste Facility: The Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Facility will be closed Dec. 21, 25, 28, and Jan. 1. It will reopen on Jan. 4.

City Hall/Civic Center Complex: Administrative offices at 276 Fourth Ave. (Mayor/Council, City Attorney, City Clerk, City Manager, Human Resources, Redevelopment and Housing, Fire Administration, Fire Prevention, Development Services, Engineering, and Finance) will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. In addition, normal Friday hours of 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the Civic Center will be in effect Dec. 27 and Jan. 3.

Trash pick up: Will be delayed one day on both Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Those having pick up on Wednesday, will have service on Thursday and Thursday service will be on Friday and so forth for the week.
