The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility encourages ALL pet parents to spay and neuter their pets. There is a serious pet overpopulation problem in nationwide and San Diego County is no exception. By spaying or neutering your pet, you can be part of the solution! Help reduce the number of animals entering shelters annually by committing to spay/neuter.

We are no longer able to accommodate brachycephalic breeds for spay/neuter appointments. These breeds include (but not limited to): French Bulldogs, Shih Tzus, Bulldogs, Boxers, Pugs, etc.
WHEN there are clinics available:
On the sign up date - must come in person during business hours (Tuesday-Friday 10-12, 1-5, Saturday 10-12, 1-4) to complete surgery consent. Please Bring documention of residency in Chula Vista (91910-91915), National City (91950), Lemon Grove (91945) and small subsets of Bonita (91902, to be verified) and a government issued ID (Drivers License or Passport). Pet owner MUST be the one completing consent, confirming ID and residency.
We will accept consent forms ONLY while spaces are available and cannot guarantee everyone in line an appointment.
THERE ARE NO LONGER INCOME RESTRICTIONS. Must still be a resident of Chula Vista, National City, or Lemon Grove.
Starting May 20th, all spay/neuter appointments include DAPP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvo, Parainfluenza) for dogs and FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) for cats. If your pet is up to date, please let staff know when scheduling.
REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a resident of Chula Vista, National City, or Lemon Grove
(91910-91915, 91932, 91950, 91945 only)
Must bring government issued photo ID
Must bring mail or bill showing residency in the selected areas
Documents must all be under the name of the person completing consent forms
Limit 3 pets due to the limited spaces available. Please do NOT bring your pets to the first appointment, this is for paperwork only.
Chula Vista residents with dogs will need to be licensed through DocuPet prior to surgery drop off.
The cost of this program for dogs is $40 and includes: surgery, pain medication, e-collar, rabies and DAPP vaccination, license (Chula Vista) and microchip. Dogs currently licensed and needing only a microchip are $20. Dogs microchipped and needing a CV license are $30. License are purchased through DocuPet.
The cost of this program for cats is $20 and includes: surgery, pain medication, rabies and FVRCP vaccination and microchip.
Our shuttle is unable to accommodate dogs over 70#. Please inquire with staff on options and availability.
This clinic is only open to dogs and cats, sorry bun-buns!
When clinics are listed as available: Residents MUST apply in person at Chula Vista Animal Services during business hours. Please do not forget your paperwork, but leave your furry friends at home this time.

Through grants from California for All Pets and HEART of Chula Vista we are able to provide Spay/Neuter services to residents from Chula Vista, National City, and Lemon Grove!
