The Office of the City Attorney's Litigation Division is responsible for defending and/or overseeing the defense of the City against civil lawsuits alleging personal injury, land use, property damage, construction defect, wrongful death, and civil rights violations. The City Attorney’s Office also includes key risk/claims management staff, who evaluate pre-litigation claims against the City, and work with all City Departments to develop and improve policies and procedures that mitigate risk.
