ROLE AND FUNCTION
The purpose of the Commission on Aging is to make recommendations and advise the City Council and the City Manager on all matters affecting the older residents of the City. The Commission works with the Recreation Department; makes recommendations and advises the City Council and City Manager on matters affecting the older residents of the City; takes steps to develop a mutual understanding and respect between seniors and the balance of the community; promotes new and improved programs for seniors; reviews existing programs and recommends modifications; and provides a forum where senior citizens may voice their concerns and suggestions.
