Role and Function
Pursuant to the City of Chula Vista Charter § 607 and Municipal Code Chapter 2.41, the Parks and Recreation Commission works with the Recreation Department; advises the City Council on issues pertinent to parks, open space, playgrounds, and recreation programs; assists in planning programs for the community and stimulating interest in the programs among the residents of the City; solicits interest and cooperation of school authorities and other public and private agencies in the recreation programs.
The Commission is composed of eight members appointed to staggered four-year terms. As listed below, all terms expire on June 30th of the year. Click here to APPLY for the Commission
