The Office of Communications implements a proactive, informative, creative and innovative marketing and communications program that encompasses:

  • Promote and market City of Chula Vista assets, signature projects, programs, and services
  • Provide marketing and communications support for City programs and services
  • Expand community engagement and partnerships
  • Enhance City of Chula Vista image and brand
  • Organize and attract special events
  • Implement Web, social and digital media programs
  • Provide marketing, communications, and graphic design services
  • Coordinate a proactive media relations program

A Marketing and Communications Plan guides the efforts of the Office of Communications staff.

In 2014, the City conducted a perception survey of residents in cities/communities outside of Chula Vista. Survey results have been used to inform marketing, communications, and social media messages.

One of the most important roles of the Office of Communications is to help our community access information and services from their city government. City Council meetings can be viewed live on television on Cox Cable 24 or AT&T Uverse 99 or via live streaming on your computer, tablet or smart phone. City Council meetings are rebroadcast on Cox Cable 24 at 7 p.m. on the Wednesday following each Council meeting. All meeting videos are archived here.
