Business License Renewal

It is the business owner's responsibility to renew their license annually.

Business licenses will be considered delinquent after January 31st and a 10% penalty shall be assessed beginning on February 1st (March 1st: 20%, April 1st: 30%, May 1st: 40%, June 1st: 50%). All business license taxes not paid by July 1st will be assessed a 60% penalty and may be referred to Code Enforcement for further action.

You may use the online renewal system to make changes such as:

  • E-mail address                                                                        
  • Website
  • Emergency contact

 If you are unable to make a specific change using our system, please contact the Finance Department BEFORE renewing; additional information or a new application may be necessary in some cases.  

 

SB205 -  Storm Water Industrial General Permit Requirements

Starting January 1st, 2020, a person conducting a business operation that is subject to the State Industrial General Storm Water Permit (IGP), 2014-0057-DWQ, shall demonstrate enrollment when applying for an initial business license or business license renewal. Business operations subject to the IGP can be found here. If you have any questions regarding your business’ subjectivity to the IGP, please contact the City’s Storm Water Management Section at 619-397-6111.

Renewals for businesses subject to the IGP must submit the renewal notice by mail or in person at the City of Chula Vista Finance Department. Online renewals are not available at this time.
