emergency_supply_kitAn emergency supplies kit (or a go-kit) is a collection of basic supplies that will help you survive for at least three days if an emergency occurs.  It is recommended to have an emergency supplies kit for each location where you spend long periods of time (e.g. home, car, and work).  It is important to build a kit that is unique to your needs. 

 

Basic Supplies:

  • Water - minimum of 1 gallon per person, per day
  • Non-perishable foods
  • Prescription medications
  • First-aid kit
  • Flashlight
  • Gloves
  • Cash
  • Important documents
 Car Emergency Kit:
  • Non-perishable food
  • Flares
  • Bottled water
  • First-aid kit
  • Extra clothing
  • Blanket
  • Sanitation supplies
  • Tools and/or utility knife
