Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are delivered in Chula Vista by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics that respond in fire apparatus and ambulances.  EMS responses accounted for 60.9% of total CVFD call volume in 2021.  

All staffed fire apparatus (Engine, Truck, US&R, Brush and Squad) have Firefighter/EMTs and Firefighter/Paramedics serving in dual-role capacities.  Each ambulance is staffed with one single-role EMT and one single-role Paramedic.
