Your visit to the Parks in the City of Chula Vista should be an enjoyable one. For your safety, our parks are monitored by Park Rangers.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
You must be at least 21 years old to reserve a park or obtain a permit for City of Chula Vista parks. Be sure to bring your permit with you on the day of your event. Park Ranger staff may request this document at any time during your event.
PARK RULES AND REGULATIONS
Park Rules
1. Park Hours: Parks are open 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. unless otherwise stated. CVMC 2.66.270
2. General Use: Unreserved park gazebos and picnic areas can be enjoyed on a first come, first served basis for groups under 25 people with no vendor services. CVMC 2.66.310
3. Reservations: Park reservations are required for gatherings of 25 or more and for any size group using a vendor service (i.e. food vendor, air jump, soft play, petting zoo, and other similar products). 2.66.310
4. Sports Areas: Park reservations do not include adjacent sports fields or courts. CVMC 2.66.240
Vendors
5. A vendor permit is required per service and will be permitted in select park areas only. All vendor companies, aside from food vendors, must be on the Approved Vendor List. CVMC2.66.230
6. Although food vendors are not required to be selected from the Approved Vendor List, it is the renter’s responsibility to ensure the food service vendor has a Chula Vista Business License, County of San Diego Health Permit and abides by all park rules. SB946
7. Air Jump generators cannot have any other device plugged into them. Additional generators are allowed, as long as they are not placed directly on the grass (on plywood, etc) and they are not refueled on the grass. CVMC 2.66.185
Set Up & Equipment
8. You may bring your own tables, chairs, and up to three canopies. Each canopy must be 10’x10’ or smaller.
9. Charcoal can only be used in park designated BBQ’s grills. All other fires must be contained in propane-style BBQ grills. No additional charcoal grills, deep fryers, fire pits or cooking oil allowed. CVMC 2.66.140
10. Piñatas may not be affixed to any structure in the park, including but not limited to gazebos, playgrounds, light posts, trees, etc. CVMC 2.66.080
Alcohol & Music
11. You must be 21 years of age or older to have/consume alcohol at a permitted park. Be prepared to show ID to Park Rangers and Police personnel. NO kegs or glass. CVMC 2.66.043, 2.66.035
12. Regardless of gathering size, a park reservation is required to have alcohol at the following parks: CVMC 2.66.045
• Eucalyptus Park
• Friendship Park
• Harborside Park
• Lauderbach Park
• Memorial Park
• Orange Park
• Rienstra Park
• SDG&E East & West Parks
13. Battery powered radios and boom boxes are allowed as long as the volume is kept down and they are not modified to include an amplified sound system. CVMC 2.66.185
Cleanliness & Safety
14. All trash and litter must be placed in trash cans. No confetti. CVMC 2.66.090
15. There is no smoking permitted at any City Park. CVMC 8.22.040
16. No animals, except for dogs and cats, are allowed in any Chula Vista Park. Dogs and cats must remain on a leash that is no longer than 6 ft. in length. CVMC 2.66.130
17. All vehicles, including motorcycles, must stay in parking areas. No driving on park grounds. CVMC 2.66.100
18. No weapons, no guns, drones, firecrackers, rockets, torpedoes, air guns, or slingshots are allowed in any park. CVMC 2.66.200, 2.66.290
19. No overnight camping CVMC 2.66.260
