The City will launch construction in January 2025 on a major renovation project at Eucalyptus Park. Once completed, the upgraded park will provide the community with additional recreation offerings and updated amenities.

Because of the scale of the project, the lower portion of the park is expected to be closed until summer 2026. Menzel Field, located in the upper level, will remain open for public use.

Phase 1 improvements have been completed and Harborside Park is now open for the community. Improvements included resodding of multi-purpose field, resurfacing of basketball court, refurbishment of bathrooms, addition of a ranger station to be staffed during open hours and a mini-pitch soccer arena. 

Harborside Park is open to the community Monday - Thursday 3 PM - 7 PM, Friday 2 PM - 7 PM, Saturday and Sunday 10 AM - 7 PM.

Additionally, the Outdoor Rec Club will host free and fun activities after school Monday through Friday.

Lower Sweetwater Community Park Project

The City is planning a new community park on a site known as Lower Sweetwater. It’s located on approximately 19.7 acres of City-owned land just west of Interstate 805 and south of State Route 54 and the Sweetwater River. The park is currently in the early stages of planning and design, and the City is exploring funding opportunities.
